Tri Bourne grew up in Oahu, Hawaii. His parents were both triathletes, hence his name. He played his college career at USC, and was a crucial part of the teams that were the NCAA runner-up in 2009 and finished third in 2011. Tri went on to play indoor professionally in Puerto Rico before embarking on a professional beach career.
Earlier this summer, Tri represented Team USA at the World University Games in Russia. He and his partner went 6-2 to finish 5th overall. His hard work in the gym and on the beach is paying off. He is already making a name for himself on the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. He and his partner, John Hyden, have quickly climbed in the rankings and finished a career best 2nd in last week’s Santa Barbara Open.
His goal is to make the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. SAYiWON’T!
Tri states, “SAYiWON’T means that you’re willing to test your character everyday by traveling down a road less traveled. The biggest challenge that I’m going to have to overcome is consistently working hard over the span of my career, not just one match, one tournament, or one season. My goal is to make it to the Olympics but it all starts with what I do today.”
When asked how he will make it happen, he replied, “Play for the love of the game and keep reminding myself how lucky I am to play pro beach ball for a living.”
When asked to describe himself in one word, Tri replied, “LUCKY”. From the look of these pictures, I would agree! SAYiWON’T!

Watch Tri in last weekend’s Santa Barbara open in a point that made ESPNSportsCenter's Top 10!
